el maiz...

"no se si alguna vez han tocado la tierra, las plantas, con sus manos. No se donde viven, ni que piensan. No se si se creen Dios. No se que piensan, en violar el orden de la naturaleza...estan locos, no queda otra explicación..."

....a completely different lens from which to view the world....This documentary about "el maiz" made me realize this. Just seeing the very different respect towards, or understanding of "el maiz" within this community that used to stand in unity not so long ago...and then putting that into a wordily perspective...it's extremely powerful, there's no doubt about that. But, I really appreciated this documentary because it was very poetic in representing all the the aspects of "el maiz"...and I think in some sense, maybe even the different aspects of life....this is probably where the inspiration for this piece comes from....

...el respeto que se le da al maíz...el maíz es vida, tiene alma...nadie vive sin él. Y por supuesto...."tomando el atolito está uno contento..."
